A Space for Bedfordshire’s Therapeutic Community

Professional practice is often a journey taken alone and it doesn’t have to be.

If you are a counsellor or psychotherapist living or working in Bedfordshire, you are likely familiar with the unique rhythm of our profession. We spend our days holding space for others, navigating complex emotional landscapes, and often operating as “islands” within our private practices or agencies. While the work is deeply fulfilling, the colleague-shaped hole in a therapist’s week can lead to professional isolation.

The Bedfordshire Counsellors’ Network was born out of a simple, vital need: the need for connection.

Building Our Common Room

We have created this digital space, and our physical meeting schedule, to serve as a home for practitioners across the county. This isn’t a directory for clients or a formal regulatory body. Instead, it is a peer-led collective designed to support the person behind the practitioner.

Through this network, we aim to:

  • Bridge the Gap: Transitioning from the solitude of the therapy room to the warmth of a local community through face-to-face meetings.
  • Support Growth: Highlighting local CPD and training via The Study, ensuring our professional development remains rooted in Bedfordshire.
  • Foster Collaboration: Sharing resources, room rentals, and local opportunities on The Hall.
  • Provide a Safety Net: Offering a dedicated supervision group and a vibrant Facebook community for day-to-day peer support.

Join the Conversation

Whether you are a seasoned practitioner with decades of experience or a student currently navigating your Level 4 diploma, there is a place for you here. Our profession is stronger when we are connected, and our mental health as therapists is nurtured when we have colleagues to turn to.

We invite you to explore The Lobby to find your way around our new site, join our Facebook group, and save the date for our upcoming meetings.

We look forward to meeting you, colleague to colleague.
